Cpl Lawrence F. Shea enlisted in New York. First, he was stationed in Florida in the US Army Air Forces. At the end of 1944, he was transferred to the infantry. He joined the 80th Infantry Division in Mainz, Germany, on 22 March 1945. Lawrence F. Shea died during a counterattack of German Forces. He was probably killed by a German Tiger tank.

From the Brooklyn Daily Eagle:
"Corporal Lawrence Shea of 749 President St. was born in Brooklyn. He attended Visitation School and was employed by Oakite Products, Inc. at Bush Terminal, when he entered the army air forces in January, 1942. He was stationed at Avon Park, Fla., until November, 1944, when he was transferred to the infantry, and went overseas last March. While with Oakite, he pitched on the company baseball team."
