Pfc Kellie J. Barnett was a molder, employed by the International Harvester Co. before he enlisted in Indianapolis, Indiana on 5 June 1943. He was first assigned to the Army Air Corps, before being transferred to the infantry.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments which hit him in the face and the thorax.
