S/Sgt Carroll J. Wolcott graduated from Bancroft High School and worked on the family farm before he enlisted in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 24 July 1942. He was sent overseas in June 1944.

He was seriously wounded in action on 7 September and evacuated to the 305th Medical Clearing Station that was stationed in Limey at that time.
