Pfc William A. Lang was employed at the Accurate Plating Company before he enlisted in Cleveland, Ohio on 26 January 1944.

He died in a field hospital from wounds caused on 4 February by artillery shell fragments in his chest.

His brother, Pvt Joseph J. Lang was killed in France and is buried next to him.
