More information
2nd Lt Frank E. Weber was a mechanic and repairman before he joined the Army in Baltimore, Maryland, on 25 May 1942.Statement from 2nd Lt Robert Reynolds:
"I was flying number three position in Blue flight on a dive-bombing mission to Mézières, May 10th, 1944. 1st Lt Edward E. Hunt was leading the flight with 2nd Lt Frank E. Weber flying his wing. As we went down on the target, I was about 100 yards behind Lt Weber at about 4500 feet when his plane was hit by 20 mm flak and exploded. The wings came off, barely missing my aircraft. I did not see Lt Weber bail out. His plane crashed in flames just north of the target."
Lt Weber was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Champigneul, France
