Vincent Matlack was a machine operator before he joined the Air Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve in New York City, New York on 14 August 1942.The airplane was hit by flak immediately after bombs away. It exploded a few thousand feet below the formation.
Five crew members were taken prisoner and four men were killed.
