The plane was attacked by about 50 fighters setting the wing on fire bombs were dropped just before the IP point according the MACR Sgt Estrada bailed out but was probably killed by German fighters. The body was found at Ruhlow and he was buried at Spanholtz cemetery at Ruhlow.
