S/Sgt Saul Katz graduated from C. E. Byrd High School in 1942 and was employed at Horton's drug store.

He enlisted in Shreveport, Louisiana on 20 January 1943 and was sent overseas in September 1944.

All of the crew were in the plane when it crash-landed approximately near Hameln, Germany. 2 KIA, 8 POW.

On one picture, S/Sgt Saul Katz is presented the Air Medal for "meritorious achievement" in aerial missions over continental Europe. The citation accompanying the award praised S/Sgt Katz for "courage, coolness an skill."
