F/O Frank Mishaga graduated from East High School in 1941 and was employed at Brodhead-Garrett Company.

He joined the Air Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio on 23 July 1942.

The plane was attacked by enemy fighters and exploded in the air and was recovered 1 km north of Stapelburg near the highway from Stapelburg to Schauen.

A crew member witnessed that Frank Mishaga and T/Sgt Harrel W. Fuller jumped out with the same parachute and were killed when hitting the ground.

Five crew members survived and were taken prisoner, four were killed. They were initially buried on 18 August 1944 at the cemetery of Veckenstedt near Halberstadt/Harz.

At the time of his death, he had completed 14 missions.
