Lt David H. Miller graduated from John Adams High School and Western Reserve University. He was employed at the Telling - Belle Vernon Company.

He joined the Air Corps of the Army of the United States in Cleveland, Ohio on 13 January 1942.

The airplane was attacked by German fighters and blew up in mid-air. Only four crew members managed to bail out before the explosion and were taken prisoner. Six men were killed.
