S/Sgt Joseph Kenney attended South High School and was employed in a store.He volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States at Fort Hayes, Ohio on 7 November 1942 and was sent overseas in December 1943.
Returning aircrew sightings reported that this aircraft received a direct hit by flak, the right wing was blown off and the plane went down in a spin and was seen to crash and explode, no chutes seen.
S/Sgt Joseph A. Kenney, Jr was first buried at the British Cemetery of St. Pol, France.
