2nd Lt William L. Yarbrough worked in an automobile factory before he volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States on 18 March 1942.The plane was shot down by Uffz Losch in a Fw 190A of JG 11/1 and crashed 2 to 3 km off shore, west of Friedrichskoog. It was last seen having difficulty staying in formation as the formation crossed the enemy coast, going in.
The entire crew of 10 was killed. The remains of five identified and two unidentified were buried at the cemetery of Kronprinzenkoog on 1 December 1943. The remains of James D. Craig washed ashore 0n 15 December 1943 and was buried at the same cemetery. Dalton Harris was buried at the British Military Cemetery of Ohlsdorf.
The remains of Harry Bolick and George Campbell Jr. were never recovered or could not be identified as one of the unidentified bodies.
