2nd Lt Charles M. Dhonau Jr. graduated from Little Rock Senior High School and was a financial institution clerk.

He volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States in Little Rick, Arkansas on 23 April 1943. He was sent to Great Britain on 8 September 1944.

The aircraft was downed by a direct flak hit.

The entire crew of nine was killed and initially buried at the cemetery of the airbase headquarters of Achmer, Germany.
