Elbert Clark attended high school for three years and was a sales clerk.He enlisted at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland on 30 May 1944.
He was initially buried in a temporary grave at Henri-Chapelle on 24 January 1945. After being disinterred and after the cemetery was given a permanent status, he was given his final resting place on 16 June 1948.
