More information

Pfc George W. Rushmore attended Bishop Loughlin High School. He also attended the American Institute of Banking and was employed by the the Corn Exchange Bank.

He enlisted at Fort Jay, Governors Island, New York on 2 July 1942. After one year at Camp Gruber, Oklahoma, he was selected for the Army Specialized Training Program, and studied for nine months at Washington and Jefferson College When the program was abandoned, he was assigned to the infantry.
