M/Sgt Stewart Saunders was born in Canada but emigrated to the United States on 1 September 1922 from Vancouver, Canada on the vessel Princess Victoria. He first resided at the International Hotel, Spokane, Washington. In 1935 he resided at the Philippine Islands.The plane was attacked by enemy fighters and shot down by Uffz Schnell of 3/JG26. Nine crew members were killed in action, one was taken prisoner.
