T/Sgt Thomas A. Montgomery went overseas in September 1943. He took his gunnerery training in Harlingen, Texas where he was awarded the Silver Wings of Aerial Gunner, radio in Sioux Falls, S.D. and finished his training in Avon Park, Fla.

In the general area the formation was attacked by 30-50 enemy fighters. First attack knocked down 5 aircrafts, second attack knocked down 5 more.
