Jennings Greuter was a mechanic before he enlisted in Toledo, Ohio on 2 February 1943.

The aircraft was hit by enemy fighters.

Jennings Greuter was trapped in the plane and not able to bail out. He was last seen in the tail of the airplane.

Five crew members survived and were taken prisoner, five men were killed.
