S/Sgt Norman J Klima was employed at the Cleveland Worm & Gear Company.
He volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States on 6 April 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio.
The airplane was attacked by German fighters.

The body of S/Sgt Klima was found 150 meters from the crash site.

Seven crew members were taken prisoner, three men were killed. They were initially buried at the cemetery of Army Post Wesermunde on 24 December 1943.
