Raymond V Duffy was a clerk before he volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States in Albany, New York on 25 August 1942.

The airplane was shot down by enemy fighters and crashed in the area of Bremen, Germany. The entire crew of ten men was killed. This crew was on their first mission.
