Sgt Fred Leiner graduated from Worcester Classical High School in 1942.

He joined the Air Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve ar Fort Devens, Massachussetts on 10 December 1942.
The airplane had received a direct hit in #3 engine. All men believed to have bailed out after the aircraft had been hit over the battle area. Of the nine men crew, seven could return to Allied lines. Two men were killed.
