More information

Francis J. Nader graduated from Redlands High school in 1932 and attended San Bernardino Valley Junior College. He worked as a machinist at the Santa Fe Shops.

He volunteered for the Army of the United States in October 1942.

Enemy fighters attacked from twelve o´clock. Aircraft 42-97361 was hit and broke into pieces. The fighter attack was fast and furious with several planes being knocked down. After crash on bottom the aircraft was blown to smallest pieces by detonation of 4 high explosive bombs. Fuselage, wings, tail assembly and engines were destroyed completely. There were 25 to 30 chutes opening and it was impossible to determine whether any of them came from A/C 361. Francis was buried initially at the village cemetery Ohren.
