2nd Lt Herbert J. Silcox attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute as part of the Class of 1941. He was employed with the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Company.He married Miss Edith Jane Scales on May 18, 1944 in the Centenary Methodist Church in Richmond. Following their wedding ceremony the couple left for a brief stay in Washington.
Upon their return, Herbert, a corporal then, left for his station at Camp McCoy in Wisconsin.
The picture was taken in 1939.
