Omer Nadeau enlisted on 16 September 1940.

He was reported missing in action on 15 April 1945 when his Company was part of a Task Force of tanks and infantry making an attack on an enemy position. His tank was on the lead platoon when it encountered a heavy artillery barrage. The Infantry dismounted from the tanks to seek cover. The platoon kept moving forward and later when it was being reorganized, Pvt Nadeau was not present.
