Capt William P. Ward graduated from Champaign High School in 1930 and from the University of Illinois in 1934. He was employed as a research metallurgist at Raritan Copper Company in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.He enlisted in 1942 and was sent overseas in August 1944.
Capt Ward was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Grand Failly, France.
