Cpl David O. E. Simpson attended Sturgis High School.His son was adopted and raised by his grandmother and carried her name.
He enlisted in 1943 and was sent overseas in the fall of 1944.
He was killed by mortar fire.
Cpl Simpson was first buried at Temporary American Military Cemetery Grand Failly, France.
