More information

Per Warren Batchelder, B Company: "S/Sgt Teel came to the aid of a soldier who was on his hands and knees attempting to get through a barbed wire fence. The soldier was tired struggling to get through the hole with his equipment, plus a bazooka and bazooka ammunition. S/Sgt Teel said to the struggling soldier "Let me help you get through that fence’. Immediately, a German machine gun opened up and took the life of Sgt Teel."

S/Sgt Howard G. Teel was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Grand Failly, France.
