T/Sgt William J. Mulligan graduated from Corpus Christi High School and Boeing School of Aeronautics.
He joined the Air Corps of the Regular Army on 16 November 1940. He was sent overseas in April 1944.
The airplane was attacked by a ME 410 and shot down by 20 mm canon fire. Eight crewmembers were killed, two were taken prisoner.

T/Sgt Mulligan's body washed ashore north of Assens, Denmark on 28 July 1944.
