Lt Martin P. Bulgar graduated from Annunciation High School.

The airplane was attacked by fighters at time of bombs away. It was last seen going down out of control, and no chutes were observed. 2nd Lt Martin P. Bulger, Jr. was seriously injured by gunshot wounds to both legs. He was dropped with his parachute above Bozum, after landing, he died on the ground. His remains are buried on 24 December 1943 in the little cemetery of Skillaerd, near Mantgum, about 9 miles from the place where his crew crashed.

On 5 November 1945 he was reburied in a temporary grave at Margraten.

His photo was later used on a poster in Detroit, advertising war bonds.

His brother, Pvt Robert J. Bulger, is buried next to him.
