F/O Henry J. Henrikson enlisted in Chicago, Illinois on 10 November 1942 as a Reserve with the Army Air Corps, followed 1 year of college, and worked as a clerk and kindred occupations before his enlistment.Statement of Lt. Pearson:
"The attack came from about 730 low and in the first pass Pearson stated that some of the his instruments were shot out and smoke came from the nose and that he expected that that’s had been a direct hit in the nose. I do know that the nose turret had a hole in the plexiglass and Henry’s suit went out while we were forming so he left the turret to keep warm until we were nearly over the target then he got back in but got out again after bombs away VHF call’s bandits in the area over. If he were in the turret and the explosion came it is doubtful if he survived, if he wan’t, he is undoubtedly dead. From talking to fellows who picked up the bodies, his dogtags weren’t found."
