Pvt George L. Goetz immigrated from Germany in 1924. He graduated from Kenton High School in 1938 and worked as a machinist at the Ohio Machine Tool Company.

He enlisted in Fort Thomas, Kentucky on 13 March 1944.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Grand Failly, France.
