T/5 Alf G. Anderson attended Stuyvesant High School for three years and was employed at the Electro Motive Corporation before he enlisted in Chicago, Illinois on 24 February 1941.He was killed by artillery shell fragments.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Grand-Failly, France.
