Pfc Eugene A. Stauffer worked on the family farm before he enlisted in Allentown, Pennsylvania on 28 September 1942.
He was reported lightly wounded in action after he was hit by artillery shell fragments at his skull, face and neck. Later that day he died of his wounds.
