T/5 George W. Shultz was a farmhand before he enlisted at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on 3 March 1942. He was sent overseas in July 1944.He died as result of an electric shock when he came in contact with an overhead high tension wire while riding on top of a tank which was on a railroad flatcar.
