Cpl Philip Keown Jr. enlisted in New York City, New York on 14 May 1941.He arrived in the USA from Belfast, Ireland on 9 June 1930. He applied for naturalization on 28 July 1937. He was released from service on 24 November 1941. On 23 February 1942, he was recalled. He was an elevator operator before entering the service. He was killed when his tank was hit by anti-tank fire.
