S/Sgt Calvin H. Wilson volunteered for the Air Corps of the U.S. Army in Boston, Massachusetts on 12 November 1942. He attended high school for 4 years and was a machinist before he enlisted.

Surviving crew members presume that he was killed or injured when they were hit by anti aircraft artillery.

Six crew members were killed, three survived and were taken prisoner.
