1st Lt Devon R. Hall joined the Air Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve in Lansing, Michigan on 14 December 1942.

2nd Lt Walter F. Oakes:
“On 13 October 1944, I was flying on an operational mission against Vienna, Austria. Flying number two position in the flight in which I flew was A/C #44-41152, with Lt Moye as pilot. When over the city of Vienna, and just about when bombs were away, the ship leading the flight received a direct hit and exploded. At the same time this aircraft started to slide away from the formation, although not out of control, and disappeared. No chutes were seen to open. The plane lost altitude, and went out of sight.”
1st Lt Vernon V. Drower:
The “Co-Pilot was seen hanging on the cat walk outside of the ship with no chute.”
