More information

Lt Creagh attended high school for two years and worked in an automobile factory.

He joined the Air Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve in Hartford, Connecticut on 22 July 1942.

The airplane was hit by flak over the target and dropped behind the formation with its left wing on fire, losing altitude rapidly. The plane was then attacked by enemy fighters. The entire crew, exept Lt Creagh was able to bail out before the airplane exploded.
