S/Sgt Robert B. Micken was a routeman before he volunteered for the US Army in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on 17 April 1942.Statement from John E. Corley:
"Aircraft B-24H, Number 41-29292 was attacked by enemy aircraft either FW-190’s or ME-109’s. Aircraft caught fire and went into a flat spin, crashed and burned. No parachutes were seen to open. It is believed that no one survived the crash. Crash occurred about four miles West of Celle, Germany."
S/Sgt Robert B. Micken is remembered at the Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery Lancaster in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
