Pfc Walter C. Gercevich was a graduate of East Technical High School.He enlisted in Cleveland, Ohio on 27 January 1943 and studied at Ohio State University with the ASTP until he was sent to Camp Swift. Texas, for infantry training. He was sent overseas in September 1944.
He was wounded in Germany, 23 November 1944, died in Holland four days later.
