T/Sgt Albert W Baker enlisted at Fort MacArthur in San Pedro, California on 12 May 1941The aircraft received a direct flak hit in the fuselage just back of the wings in the target area. It immediately broke in half and fell away in two pieces.
Eight crew members were killed, one man survived and was taken prisoner.
All of the bodies were recovered and buried on 31 August 1944 in Fovrfelt Cemetery. On 30 April 1948, they were all transferred to the Ardennes American Cemetery in Belgium.
