Sgt Lawrence L. Burgeson graduated from Los Angeles High School and was employed as an accountant at the Blue Diamond Corporation.He volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States on 1 December 1942 at Santa Ana Army Air Base, California.
The formation was victim to severe attacks from enemy fights. The aircraft's right wing was on fire but it apparently was still under control. The entire crew of nine was killed. They were initially buried at the cemetery of Schladen.
