Pvt Oliver E. Marion graduated from Coldwater High School in 1940 where he was active in athletics, baseball, football and basketball. He also was a member of the Coldwater All-Star baseball team.

He was employed by the United Steel & Wire Company where he also played baseball.

He enlisted in Detroit, Michigan on 17 August 1944.

At the time of his death, he had been in combat for only ten days.

He is remembered at the Brown Cemetery in Jasper County, Indiana.

His second picture was taken in high school in 1939.
