More information

Pvt Raymond A. Duff joined the U.S. Army Reserve in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 21 April 1943.

Pvt Duff was a member of a combat patrol whose intended destination was 1500 yards east of Groesbeek. During the mission, while 800 yards east of Groesbeek, the patrol encountered machine gun fire. The members of the patrol were unable to reach him and a larger patrol was sent to rescue him, but enemy fire kept this patrol from reaching him.

He was declared officially dead one day and one year after he was reported missing in action.
