Warren Lee was employed by Dow.The aircraft weaved around after apparently being hit by flak. They feathered #2 engine and left the formation. It then joined another formation until it was lost sight of.
According to his widow, a surviving crew member, Billy Muse, told her that Sgt Lee was unable to bail due to a frost-bitten foot.
