Wymon Slosson graduated from Public High School. He was employed by the Nothern Pacific Railway Company where he worked as a switchman.He married to Helen Fern Peterson on 20 May 1942.
He joined the Air Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve in Missoula, Montana on 29 April 1942.
The airplane was hit by flak, causing a fire in the tail section that killed the tail gunner. According to surviving crew members, the pilot held the airplane under control so the crew could bail out.
Eight crew members bailed out and were taken prisoner. Two men were killed.
