Leon Anderson was a chauffeur.He joined the Field Artillery of the National Guard in Providence, Rhode Island on 24 February 1941 and was later transferred to the Air Corps.
The airplane was hit by flak. Seven crew members survived and were taken prisoner, three men were killed.
