Warren Beahr was a meatcutter.He volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States in Richmond, Virginia on 5 January 1942.
The airplane was hit by flak, causing a fire in the tail section that killed the tail gunner. According to surviving crew members, the pilot held the airplane under control so the crew could bail out.
Eight crew members bailed out and were taken prisoner. Two men were killed.
