1st Lt George J. Stokes worked for the Kroehler furniture Manufacturing Co. before he enlisted on 25 November 1942 in Glendale, California.

He crashed during a training flight on 20 April 1945. He was officially declared dead on 3 Jnauary 1946.

He had not used his parachute and his body was never recovered.

On one photo, he poses as a young boy with his brother Glenn.
