1st Lt Robert T. Shelton Jr. was an electrician before he enlistedin Baltimore, Maryland, on 1 December 1941.Statement from 2nd Lt William M. Roth:
"Lt Shelton, Robert T. Jr. was flying Blue two directly ahead of me in Blue three. We attacked some trucks in a heavily defended area, and Lt Shelton’s plane was hit by flak during his strafing run, causing his plane to dive into a hill directly in front of me, exploding instantly. There was no chance for Lt Shelton to bail out."
